Heaven and skies over your own world That confines and bounds your eyes Believe in ardour Believe in esperence, alright That one moment you'll find it here One moment you'll find it here One moment you'll find it here One moment you'll find it here Find what hides beneath your layers Get entranced and filled with desire Here you find your thoughts take shape Let them traverse through the world Believe in ardour Believe in esperence, alright That one moment you'll find it here One moment you'll find it here One moment you'll find it here One moment you'll find it here

AUTUMN HUE LYRICS Forget what love has saught so far No tension now Our lady is down but not leaving Don’t flap around and start grieving Shall I ask her loud to forget Shall I ask her loud to forget Shall I ask her loud to forget Shall I ask her loud to forget

about

Epiphanies are always good and it seems like that’s what was behind the shift in sound on the new Black Letters EP Petrichor. The follow-up to their debut 2014 album Shapes on the Wall leans on softer, delay-laden guitars, slow beats and plenty of layers.

Petrichor was inspired by a getaway to the resort town of Wayanad in Kerala last year, frontman Sharath Narayan tells us. He says of the four-track EP, “We’ve kept it straightforward. It’s very soothing, light and has certain dream-pop elements.” Produced by Vivek Thomas, Petrichor was originally slated for release in May, but the band – also comprising drummer Akash Chacko, guitarist Sarang Menon and bassist Arjun Radhakrishnan – have been spending time tweaking every detail.

The first taste of the EP arrived in August, with the music video for “Phila” straight off exuding synth brightness over a steady beat. The rest of Petrichor offers more shades of Black Letters’ guitar-led rock that’s not at all as loud as Shapes on the Wall, but very much a perfect companion for star-gazing your night away.

"The Bengaluru/Kochi alt rock band’s new offering is rich with delay guitars and laid-back beats." - Rolling Stone

"Petrichor is a fresh, pleasant yet mysterious release that Black Letters hope sends some nostalgia to the listener." - Times of India

House me in
House me in
House me in the fading light

House me in the fading light
Who's holding me tonight?
Slip me in your pocket

Have me in your pocket
Then I don't need to hide, tonight
In your pocket
